BlackBerry Desktop Software utilizes Apple's SyncServices technology in order to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks information to and from the Mac computer. BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes information with the SyncServices database, which then synchronizes with other SyncServices enabled applications on the computer (for example, Apple Address Book, iCal, Apple Mail, Microsoft Outlook for Mac). BlackBerry Desktop Software does not synchronize directly with any desktop applications on the Mac computer. Since Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 and later does not use SyncServices, it is not possible to synchronize Contact, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes information using the BlackBerry Desktop Software with these Mac OS versions. For information on SyncServices and Mac OS X, see the following Apple Support article: About SyncServices Note: BlackBerry Desktop software 2.4 is still supported for use with Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. ![]() Download and Install BlackBerry® Desktop Manager - Macintosh® After installing Blackberry Desktop Manager, other software previously used to synchronize data (e.g. PocketMac, The Missing Sync, etc.) will no longer connect to the Blackberry device. • Close any open apps. • Open an Internet browser and navigate to the website. • Click Desktop Software (located to the right). • Select Mac. • Enter the 10-digit mobile number then click Download Now.• Double-click the downloaded file. • If prompted, click Install Anyway. • Click Continue. • From the 'Important Information' screen, click Continue. • Select the Country or Region, review the license agreement, then click Continue. • To continue the installation, click Agree. • Click Install. • Enter the name and pasword for the computer, then click OK. • Click Continue Installation. • Click Restart. ![]() • Double-click the Blackberry Desktop Manager icon. • Connect the Blackberry device to the computer with the USB cable. • Enter/select the following information then click OK: • Device Name • Synchronization option • Amount of memory free.
